To Battle Road & Walden Pond

Maggie wanted to visit Walden Pond and enjoy the fall foliage. We left around 8:30 a.m. via the Minuteman Bikeway, which wasn't very busy so early in the morning.

Just past Lexington Center, we took a left on Paul Revere Hill Road. It is a rather lightly traveled road that goes by the Lexington Golf Club. It is a pleasant ride, and the hill isn't as steep as the parallel Mass Ave. At the end of Paul Revere Hill Road we ended up at the Minuteman National Park.

From there we took the Battle Road toward Concord Center. Yes, I dressed in seasonal camoflage.

And we stopped often to enjoy the changing leaves.

Stopped for a mid morning snack at Walden Pond. The color along the shore was fascinating.

We didn't want to spend all day touring, so we took the noon train from Lincoln. We got back home before 1pm to finish our day.

Indeed, a wonderfully simply morning jaunt to some beautiful nearby areas.

  1. The morning jaunt is always a pleasant and refreshing experience to explore new places and nearby surrounding areas in the morning ride.

The Walden Pond is a lovely place for having a picnic and holiday vacation with family. It is also good for sailing and other activities.
